Talbot Jones Achieves Cyber Essentials Accreditation
Our Cyber Essentials Accreditation: Strengthening Trust, Security and Resilience
Talbot Jones Ltd is pleased to announce that we completed our Cyber Essentials accreditation in November 2025, reinforcing our commitment to protecting our clients, our business and the information entrusted to us.
Richard Talbot-Jones, Managing Director of Talbot Jones Ltd, said: “We are really proud to share that we’ve completed the Cyber Essentials accreditation. This continues to demonstrate our commitment to best practice, and our proactive approach to risk management.”
Cyber Essentials is a UK Government-backed certification scheme developed with the National Cyber Security Centre. It helps organisations guard against common online threats by confirming that key technical controls are in place and regularly reviewed.
What Cyber Essentials Covers
The accreditation focuses on practical safeguards designed to reduce exposure to the most common cyber risks. These include:
· Firewalls and internet gateway controls to help prevent unauthorised access.
· Secure configuration of devices, software and systems to reduce avoidable weaknesses.
· User access controls so people only have the level of access they need.
· Malware protection to help detect and block malicious software.
· Security update management, including keeping software and systems patched against known vulnerabilities.
Working Alongside Cyber Liability Insurance
Cyber Essentials is one important part of our wider risk management approach. In parallel, we have also invested in cyber liability insurance, recognising that prevention and protection should work together.
The accreditation helps demonstrate that core security controls are in place, while cyber liability insurance provides an additional layer of financial and operational support if a cyber incident occurs. Together, they strengthen our resilience and support our ability to respond responsibly and effectively.
Supporting GDPR and FCA Compliance
As a business that handles sensitive information, we take our data protection responsibilities seriously. Cyber Essentials supports our ongoing commitment to GDPR by helping us maintain appropriate technical safeguards for personal data, manage access to information and reduce the risk of avoidable security incidents.
It also complements our responsibilities as an FCA-regulated firm. Strong cyber security, clear governance and operational resilience are central to maintaining client trust and meeting the standards expected of regulated businesses.
Our Ongoing Commitment
Completing Cyber Essentials is not a one-off exercise. It forms part of our continuing commitment to reviewing our systems, improving our processes and taking proportionate steps to protect the people and organisations we work with.
We know that confidence matters. By combining recognised cyber security accreditation, cyber liability insurance, GDPR awareness and FCA compliance, we aim to give our clients and partners further reassurance that security, professionalism and accountability remain at the heart of how we operate.
